PRESSURE WRAP APPLICATION

SUPPLIES YOU WILL NEED:
1. SURGIPAD
2. 3" CAST PADDING
3. ROLL COTTON
4. 4" VETWRAP
5. 3" ELASTIKON

DIRECTIONS:
Apply surgipad over wound, Then apply cast padding over the surgipad rolling around leg in a spiral motion and overlapping itself about ½ inch.This will hold the surgipad in place.Then apply the roll cotton over cast padding the same way, but tightly.This helps reduce the swelling and is the "pressure" part of the wrap.Then apply the vetwrap tightly over the cotton starting at the top of leg and go down in a spiral motion leaving approximately 1 to 1 ½ inches of roll cotton exposed on both ends. Vetwrap will stop the circulation if you apply directly on to skin without cotton underneath. This is why we keep some cotton exposed. Then apply the elastikon tape over the entire wrap including the cotton at top and bottom. Make sure the elastikon tape is overlapping the bandage and sticking to the skin also. Try not to pull it tightly for this will reduce circulation on the exposed skin areas on top and bottom.
